Preparation hymns

I’ve chosen each of the following hymns specifically for their lyrics. Each hymn is a prayer set to music. I sing them whenever I seek to come into the presence of God to begin my prayer and worship. In fact each of these hymns combines prayer with worship – making them powerful prayers.

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15)

The reason that these hymn prayers are so powerful is that they are most certainly “according to His will.”   They are asking for what Jesus delights to impart to His loved ones.

If you are short of time, you might like to simply sing the Hymn “Just As I Am” .

Spirit of God Descend Upon My Heart
